Islamic Finance Conference 2019: Emerging Trends in Islamic Finance

The Islamic Finance Conference (IFC) 2019 themed 'Emerging Trends in Islamic Finance' will be held on 9th December 2019 in Karachi. The call for papers for the conference is now live. Last date of complete paper submission is 31st October 2019. The candidates will receive intimation of acceptance of paper by 16th November 2019.

Keynote Speaker
Ahmed Ali Siddiqui The Islamic Finance Conference, 2019 will feature keynote speaker session by Chairman CEIF, Dr. Ishrat Husain. Dr. Ishrat Husain is currently the Advisor to the Prime Minister on Institutional Reforms and Austerity with the status of Federal Minister. He has also been the Dean and Director of IBA Karachi from 2008 till 2016.
Conference Convener
Ahmed Ali Siddiqui The conference convener is Director CEIF, Mr. Ahmed Ali Siddiqui. He has over 14 years of rich Islamic banking experience and is involved in pioneering work in the field of Islamic Finance in Pakistan. His major areas of interest are Shariah Compliant Product Development, Sovereign Sukuk & deal structuring, development of innovative solutions for retail, corporate & consumer banking, formulation of policy guidelines, Islamic banking training, Shariah Audit, and Islamic financial advisory services.
Conference Chair
Dr. Irum Saba The conference chair for Islamic Finance Conference, 2019 will be Dr. Irum Saba. Dr. Saba has more than 15 years of progressive regulatory, research, training and teaching experience with organizations of international repute. Currently, she is Assistant Professor in the Department of Finance and Program Director of MS Islamic Banking and Finance at IBA-Karachi. She has the honour to be the first Pakistani female to be part of the International Shari'ah Advisory Board in South East Asia and Middle East. Dr. Irum Saba has also been acknowledged as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Islamic Finance at Womani 2018 Awards Ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Conference Secretariat
Hubab Sabir Ms. Hubab Sabir has completed her Bachelor's in Business Administration from IBA, Karachi. She is a keen learner and has experience in project management, marketing and research. She has served the IBA Student Societies and the Department of Marketing at IBA during her bachelor's studies. Her internship experiences at different start-ups have enriched her practical learning experience.
