CEIF & Bank Islami - Recruitment Drive & Awareness Session

Dr. Ishrat Husain held a Press conference at IBA City Campus on 13th November 2015 to introduce the Center of Excellence in Islamic Finance (CEIF) to the media and to highlight its purpose and goals.

Dr.Ishrat Husain informed the media of the current gap in human resource needed for the industry and the need for setting up this centre. Dr. Ishrat pointed out the need to have professionals with blended knowledge of both Shariah and Banking. He further stressed on the bankers to focus on SME and agricultural financing and move away from collateral based lending to program lending based on profit sharing modes.

Mr. Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, Director CEIF, shared some industry facts with media while Dr.Zeeshan Ahmed, Member Academic Committee, spoke about the increasing popularity of Islamic Finance among the students of various top universities of Pakistan.
