  • Course Description

    IBA Centre for Excellence in Islamic Finance (IBA-CEIF) is offering a one-day course on "Innovative Islamic Finance Solutions and Sukuk" on 19th April, 2018. The course has been designed to provide the participants with the overview on Sukuk focusing on structuring and documentation. The course aims to provide insights into Sharia compliant credit-enhancement techniques within Sukuk documentation along with broad based discussion on topics such as governance, legal & regulatory aspects, tradability and securitization. The course will further provide overview of the Innovative Islamic Structures being implemented in Islamic Banking & Finance industry. The trainer will enrich the classroom discussions with universal practices and cases studies.

  • Trainers' Profile

    Mian Muhammad Nazir: An accomplished and prominent Sharia expert & lawyer in the field of Islamic banking and finance. He has been associated with Dar Al Sharia, Dubai Islamic Bank for the past 12 years and currently serves as its CEO. He holds a Masters degree in Commercial Law from the University of Cambridge and LL.B (Hons.) Sharia and Law from International Islamic University, Pakistan.

    In addition to being CEO of Dar Al Sharia, Mian Nazir serves as member of various Sharia Boards including Dubai Islamic Bank, Pakistan; Dubai Islamic Bank, Kenya; National Savings Scheme, Pakistan; Emirates REIT, DIFC, Dubai; RAK Bank, UAE; Union National Bank (UNB), Abu Dhabi, UAE.

    Mufti Hassaan Kaleem: Mufti Hassaan Kaleem is an experienced scholar/advisor in the field of Shari'a, particularly in Islamic Finance. He is currently serving as a Resident Sharia Board Member and Country Head of Shari'a in Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan Limited. In addition, he is affiliated with several corporations and serves as a member on various Sharia Boards worldwide. He also holds vast experience in matters of Shari'a teachings and advisory as he has been teaching various courses in Islamic Studies and Arabic at Jamia Dar-ul-Uloom, Karachi for the last 17 years. Furthermore, he is also a frequent speaker/trainer on the concept and issues related to Islamic banking and finance, world-wide.
